Bring Your Story to Life
What does it take to turn an idea into a world readers want to enter? In this creative studio course, participants will develop an original comic, graphic novel, or illustrated book from concept to finished pages. They will explore how characters, environments, composition, and page design work together to create a clear and engaging visual story.
Through guided exercises and personal project development, participants will learn how to shape a narrative, design expressive characters, build believable settings, and plan panels, pacing, and page layouts. Emphasis will be placed on using images, dialogue, gesture, and composition to communicate mood, action, and meaning.
Materials:
All materials will be provided. Participants will work with sketching pencils, black drawing pens, coloured pencils, markers, rulers, sketch paper, and heavier drawing paper for creating finished comic pages.
