Discover the Language of the Human Figure
Drawing is more than observation – it is a practice of presence. This immersive figure-drawing course explores the energy, rhythm, movement, and expression of the human body through gesture drawing.
Participants will learn to recognize and capture the essential forces within a pose, including weight, balance, tension, flow, compression, and extension. Through quick sketches and longer studies, we will explore gesture, proportion, body mechanics, structure, volume, shading, line quality, and movement.
The course emphasizes simplifying the figure into clear, expressive forms while building confidence and stronger observational skills. Suitable for beginners and experienced artists alike, the sessions offer a supportive environment where technique and creativity develop together.
Materials
All materials will be provided. Participants will work with sketching paper and soft wax-based pencils that encourage soft, flowing lines and a broad tonal range.
