The Digital Innovation Group came into being through a Canada Council for the Arts Grant. The need for the group became apparent during the webcast “Vancouver Island – Arts and Culture Powerhouse?” held in July 2019. The main goal being to establish a Vancouver Island and Gulf Islands Digital Innovation Group (DIG) transforming how Arts Councils operate, collaborate and communicate from March 2020 to December 2021.
The group consists of six Arts Council from Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands:
Arts Council of Ladysmith and District (ACLD) represented by Ora Steyn
Cowichan Valley Arts Council(CVAC) represented by Janet Magdanz
Salt Spring Arts Council (SSAC) represented by Yael Wand
Comox Valley Arts (CVA) represented by Kera Hughes
Hornby Island Arts Council (HIAC) represented by Andrew Mark
The Old School House Art Center (TOSH) represented by Ilana Hester
