A wildlife and nature artist, whose passion for the natural world is vividly portrayed in her stunning acrylic works, Patricia offers a glimpse into the lives of majestic creatures and the environments they call home, reflecting both her deep admiration for wildlife and her commitment to preserving it.
Patricia's artistic journey is shaped by personal encounters with animals, whether in the wild or at sanctuaries. These moments provide the foundation for her work, allowing her to translate interactions into paint, bringing animals to life on canvas. Through her paintings, she hopes to inspire others to appreciate and protect the natural world.
Reflective, captures a rarely seen side of the North American Grizzly Bear. Known for its power and strength, Patricia chose to focus on a quieter moment—one in which the bear gazes into the water, contemplating its reflection. "It makes me wonder what was going through his mind," she says, inviting viewers to see beyond the bear’s formidable presence and explore its inner world.
"Painting wildlife has made me look more closely at our natural world and given me a strong desire to preserve it. Every painting tells a story—whether it’s a warm family moment or a look of sadness—it's a moment that has inspired me."
With Eagle Spirit, Patricia celebrates the resilience and freedom of the bald eagle. Inspired by the efforts of the North Island Wildlife Recovery in Errington, this painting traces the eagle’s flight path as it soars back into the wild. "For me, eagles truly represent the spirit of the wild," Patricia explains. The painting is not just an artistic expression but a tribute to the organization’s ongoing work, with part of the proceeds from its sale going directly to support their efforts in rehabilitating and releasing wildlife.
Both Reflective and Eagle Spirit are acrylic on birch panel, each measuring 24"x30", offering a striking portrayal of West Coast wildlife. Patricia’s art is more than just a visual experience—it’s an invitation to connect with nature, to see the world through her eyes, and to feel the same urgency to protect the creatures that inspire her. The art show Nostalgia runs until October 23, open daily from 10 AM to 4 PM at Unit 7 - 32 High St. Downtown Ladysmith
