About the Event

In this workshop, we will explore the creative potential of printing on paper using a gelli plate and acrylic paint. This will be combined with other art techniques including drawing, stencil design and text.  Each participant will produce stylish prints and work towards a completed book project of their prints.

These classes are suitable for art beginners who want to start learning about printmaking and who love colour and patterns. Handouts will be provided. All materials are included, but if you wish to bring your own materials, please feel free to do so. Other topics in this workshop will include shop maintenance and safety as well as printmaking terminology.

Please Bring:

  • A full water bottle and a bagged lunch

  • Clothes that can get a bit of paint on them

  • Items to experiment with for adding textures (must be flat and soft such as string, bubble wrap, cling wrap, textured paper,…
